Trading text links with other sites does bring some people to your site, however since most everyone's site has numerous links, while still important, they no longer have the effectiveness or referral power they had a year or so ago. Listing with countless search engines doesn't cut it anymore either, 95% of Internet users select Google The only way to get large numbers of people to you is the same as it as always been--you need to network and ADVERTISE...and the best place is targeted on the Internet. However, advertising on the Internet is not quite the same as it was in print. You still need to place "ads" at sites that are in alignment with what it is you are offering, however, the purpose of the "ad" --a banner across the screen like the ones below--is to get viewers to click on the banner and be transported to your site.
