Virato offers unconditional love and enlightenment to all. He has been a part of the human potential movement for over 40 years and has been seen by millions. He has assisted in creating spiritual transformation in thousands of people. Virato was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 14, 1938, at 6:05 EST, in Brooklyn Jewish Hospital of parents (not Jewish) whose lineage runs pure to Medieval Lithuanian royalty. Virato was introspective and scholastic as a child, usually near or at the top of his class. He was always drawn to things esoteric and mystical in his formative years. His first epiphany came on Good Friday at the age of nine in St. Michael's Roman Catholic church, in Brooklyn. While Virato was in deep prayer, Jesus came to him in "physical" spirit form. Virato served in the United States Navy, flying patrol bombers while still a teenager, and at 22 completed his higher education and entered a traditional corporate, suburban lifestyle, which included a wife, three children, and membership in his local Junior Chamber of Commerce. In 1972 leaving his family, like Jesus, Buddha and countless others before him, Virato went "on the road." In February 1976, at the crest of his corporate America leela, while walking on lower Broadway in New York City, Virato was struck by "two flashes of light from above," ...and his life would never be the same. As he entered a "fulfilled state of consciousness," his sense of smell, his intuitive ability, his attitude and his lifestyle totally transformed. He had a message...one of freedom and love and enlightenment. After leaving corporate America, Virato soon became an urban sadhu. He read and lived robustly and profusely, examining many spiritual paths including Eastern philosophy, Judaism, Sufism, Unitarian-Universalism, the Rainbow Family; group work at the Osho ashram in Pune, India; communal relationships;...and many aspects of human behavior, plus active and board membership in the Association for Humanistic Psychology. In 1979 he traveled from New Jersey in America to Pune, India. On January 10, 1980, he became "Swami Virato" accepting sannyas initiation (discipleship) from the enlightened mystic, Osho (Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh). The name Virato in Sanskrit means eternity or vastness. While in India, Virato was personally directed by Osho to "take people who are turning, and help them to turn." From 1982-1984 "Swami Virato" founded, and served as Director, of Premsagar Rajneesh Meditation Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. In 1985, the name was changed to the Nepal Institute. Virato first began his discipleship by assisting people as founder, publisher and editor of New Frontier Magazine, a 25-year-old international magazine of awareness and new thought spirituality. Late one evening, January 19, 1990 out of a large plant in the corner of his New Frontier Magazine office in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, USA, at the exact moment Osho left his body in Pune, India, Virato received a Divine apparition and epiphany. Osho and Nostradamus, appearing in a plasma-like holographic forms rising from the large plant gave him numerous telepathic sound messages. One of the messages from Osho was to present enlioghtenment to the world. From Nostradamus, over time, Virato was told to reveal messages to the appropriate people and at the appropriate times. He has now begun to do this. He was directed to include Nostradamus in his name. At around 5:30 PM, on September 11, 2001 Moscow time (8:30 AM NY time) at a placed called [appropriately] White Cloud in Moscow, Virato said that because of its pushing of Christianity and American philosophy in Muslim countries, and America's hungar for oil, there would very soon be a bombing of the twin Trade Towers America's pinnacle of capitalism. He said he saw objects spiercing the side of a Trade Tower building. About 100 people were at Virato's satsang on this evening. He also said there is much more here than meets the eye, and that we should bring open awareness to know more. An hour later both of New York's Twin Trade Towers fell to ground in rubble On Saturday evening, December 24, 2004, again in Moscow, Virato spoke of the end times and of earthquakes under the sea soon to occur, creating great tidal waves. He even suggested they contact friends and relatives in the "far off" seas and oceans who were onthe sea. About 30 people were present to hear him say this. The following morning, his students, ashen faced, shared the news about the great Pacific and Indian Ocean tsunami. Virato has traveled afar presenting his powerful and transformative Tantric Events. He was the first to bring Tantra to Russia in 1992, and has been presenting Tantra events there ever since. His wild heart, openness and honesty is cherished by the Russian people. His methods create movement and transformation wherever he goes. Virato is controversial, as was his master Osho. He is lovingly called the Cosmic Trickster or Wildman, and wherever he goes, often with his beloved Dhiraja, if people are ready, they open hearts.
Swami Nostradamus Virato, now simply called Virato, like his master, Osho, has sannyasins of his own in America, Brazil, England, India, Iran and Russia.
