Question One
Beloved Master,
There are many disciples who live with
their masters for many years,
and we know that they became great
masters themselves after 10 or 20 years.
There are others, like Swami Sivananda,
who met their master for only a half hour.
Others like our dear Osho, your master,
realized the truth without a
personal master.
I have not lived with you,
but I can see in you my
eternal master and you refer to
me as your sannyasin.
Do you think that it is necessary
for me to live with you?
I mean physically.
Love, David
Beloved David, Love.
The master-disciple way to
enlightenment is but one way.
There are many paths to self-realization.
A master provides a physical point of surrender,
and for some this is the appropriate path.
Yes, when you are in the physical presence of a master
you do receive the energy from the master.
The master does not even have to speak.
However, it is the unconditional love
a disciple achieves using the
master as the icon.
Some can feel this energy
through the words of the master,
or from books or over the Internet.
Being in the physical presence of the
master does create the permanent bond.
However, it does not require living
together with the master for a lifetime.
As in the case of Swami Sivananda,
a single meeting can create this energy bond.

Question Two
Beloved Master,
What are the three most important things
that you learned from Osho, your master?
Love, David
Beloved David, Love.
I learned nothing from Osho.
I simply experienced.
It was not knowledge.
In fact, Osho showed through his
discourses the folly of
gaining more knowledge.
Knowledge is of the mind.
Experience is for the heart and soul.
And there were not three things.
I experienced countless things,
and no three can be singled out.
At each point in my life
another experience is applied.
Life is dynamic,
and at every moment
there is a different color to existence.
Also, the true master will
give you obstacles of all sorts,
he will be a Cosmic Trickster,
challenging you to grow always.
If you can maintain your unconditional love
under all circumstances,
you shall arrive.
Osho allowed me to let go to the universe.
Infinity is beyond a number,
whether that be three or a million.
When you let go totally,
all the universal knowledge of
the Akasha becomes available.
You shall then
become one with all.
Question Three
Beloved Master
What is meditation?
Love, David
Beloved David,
Love.
Many things have been written
about meditation that are often very esoteric.
Meditation is simply a transitional technique
used to move from mind to spirit.
Scientifically speaking, meditation
may be called brain entrainment.
It should be noted that guided
meditation,
where mental pictures are created,
while beneficial in some ways,
is not meditation.
Neither should contemplation be
considered meditation.
While the mind is active,
meditation cannot occur.
Our mind is like a
lake where
there is much activity,
creating ripples and waves.
These waves interact and intersect
with each other creating all sorts
of patterns on the lake.
Most of these patterns are chaotic.
The mind is the same,
creating activity, drowning out
our higher self so to speak.
The benefits of meditation are endless.
When the waves of the lake quiet down,
we can then see the reflection of the sky
and trees around the lake.
Likewise, when the brain calms down
we can see the reflection of the Universe.
One basic meditative technique
is to repeat a sound,
such as a mantra or chant
for a period of time,
until the brain is quieted.
The brain should be looked at
as the
machinery or hardware,
while the mind is the function
of the brain, or its software.
In addition to sound,
you
can use a mandala.
Simply by staring at a mandala
for a period of time
the mind can also get
into the quiet state.
Some long-distance runners have used
the repetition of their feet hitting
the ground as a meditative tool.
You gain physically from the deep relaxation
experienced by the body during meditation.
The ability to think clearly will improve as
the technique calms the mind naturally,
alleviating stress, allowing you
to become more positive, precise and alert.
The calming of the
whole nervous system
will benefit the bodily functions which
normally absorb the stresses of life.
Meditation also increases perception,
awareness and creativity.
In the quiet of meditation you
draw from the infinite source of
supply, energies to heal you mentally,
physically and emotionally
as you also spiritually unfold.
In the process of unfolding you
experience greater inner strength.
Your perception and awareness increase,
which helps you to face adversities as you
become aware of opportunities inherent in them.
With meditation
you begin to accept yourself,
and become responsible for your existence.
All in all your life will be transformed and
uplifted as you begin to draw upon,
and shine your
inner light
which will also reflect on
all those around you.
Your relationships with other people
and the world at large will improve
as you become more open and
loving through meditation.
Question Four
Dear Master,
To be attracted to many women,
or to have sex relations with more than
one woman is this permissible?
Can this be an obstacle in one's spiritual life?
Many religions teach that celibacy
or a relationship only with your wife is
absolutely indispensable to attain God.
Love, David
Beloved David, Love.
Why do you think that being
attracted to many women,
or
having sexual relationships with more than
one woman should not be permitted?
Physical attraction is a natural thing.
However, you must be aware of
the essence of this attraction.
If you are only
lustfully attracted to
the
woman’s body, without moving into love,
this will not support your spiritual evolution.
Unless you are
in a state of love,
succumbing to only a physical attraction
can indeed take you off the spiritual path.
One of the reasons that Tantra is called the
"left-handed path," is that you can become
addicted to the physical pleasure only
of a sexual relationship,
the same as you can
become addicted to drugs.
Another thing you may wish to examine
is the essence of sexual attraction itself.
Sexual attraction is simply an energy.
The body wishes to duplicate itself
by creating another life form.
It is the way the human race
in form propagates itself.
This is natural.
The problem arises when your desires
are based solely upon the physical.
Become aware of your desires,
for all desires are
gifts given to you.
How you choose to use
these gifts is what matters.
What you do with these desires reflects
your degree of spiritual evolvement.
The reason religions have advocated
celibacy and monogamy,
has to do with the simple fact that
most humans are weak,
and easily fall from
a state of spiritual grace.
Religions have acted as
parents,
assuming they know what is best
for your spiritual development.
However, what has happened is
that those in religious bondage
have actually been kept from evolving.
Tantra allows for freedom,
not suppression.
It allows you to become a spiritual adult,
and not remain a perpetual
child in a religion.
If you are in a state of love,
you may find that your desire
for many women simply leaves.
However, if the attraction is there,
and you do not abuse or seduce women,
there is nothing wrong.
The important
thing to be aware of in all
relationships, monogamous or polyamorous,
is that they should be entered into within
a state of love consciousness.

Question Five
Dear Master,
What is your view about sex
and enlightenment?
Love, David
Beloved David, Love.
Sex is very broad word with many permutations.
As I have said before,
one is sexually attracted to
another to propagate the species.
Of course, homosexuality
has deviated from this purpose.
While many homosexual relationships
perpetuate deviance,
some are indeed Divinely blessed.
However, there is another celestial aspect
to sexual attraction,
and that is to seek union, or yoga, with Divinity.
When one is in
a Divine state of grace
--a state of love consciousness with another--
there is an opportunity to enter into an
enlightened state as well.
At the moment of orgasm,
you are in a pure spiritual state
if you let go totally.
When both partners are in this state
magic will happen.
The partners can enter in Nirvana.
It is sad that today,
and perhaps ever since society
as become "civilized," that sex is either
condemned or pornographic.
When it is balanced, and embraced in love,
sex can be a doorway to enlightenment.
When it out of balance,
it is a hindrance.
Always bring love and let go to any sexual
encounter, and you shall be rewarded.
Blessings & Love,
Swami Nostradamus Virato
