We can design your banner presentation for you, as well as complete Web pages. Proper color selection...typography (fast, beautiful or both?)...thematic photo and graphic selection...copy writing...these are all synergistically interconnected. We can even research the Web for you. We have quite an extensive bookmark collection of sites.

The most expensive part of a Website is its design which can take several hours. Here are some tips to save you time and money:

First surf the Web and get an idea of what it is you want to do. Do you want to introduce and promote a service, or perhaps actually sell a product online?
Consider What, Where, Why, Who, When and How.
Be sure photos are bright and uncluttered. Select at least one action photo.
Decide if you will use the name (URL) http://www.newfrontier.com/your_name, or whether you want your own domain name http://www.your_name.com or .org, .net, or .cc. If you require your own domain you will need to determine if the name you want is available. We've found that domain names are really not as important as people's egos think they are. In fact, the domain newfrontier.com may bring more clients or customers, and we offer fringe benefits with newfrontier.com. Be sure an use lower case characters, since this is the general way people will type (Ex. maxandrosie.com rather than MaxandRosie.com). If you have a website name with upper and lowercase, people who type in all lower case will not find you!
Having your own domain name usually also means a set up charge of around $150, and $300/yr Website storage. (If you choose newfrontier.com/your_name, we charge no set-up fee and only $150/yr. storage, or $95/yr storage if you place a banner or billboard in New Frontier Magazine, Bliss Magazine, Nepal Institute, Asheville Holistic Alternatives or Asheville Magazine)

Surf around the World Wide Web, as we said. Make some sketches of what you like and don't like. Print a page out in color if possible. If you can, look at the same site in different browsers (Netscape Version 4 or higher, Internet Explorer 5 or higher, or AOL 4.5 or higher). Sites tend to look different in each of them.

A simple Website includes one image provided in suitable PC electronic format (.gif or .jpg). (Kinko's can do this for you if you like). If we must scan your photo or graphic, there is a $10 charge per scan. There is a $15 charge for disk transfer from Mac to PC (again Kinko's can do this). Placement of additional images are $10 each (plus any scanning charge).

Provide us with your text words in Microsoft Word or text format, on PC disk or by E-mail, and a sketch plus completing the form below. Include any sequencing of pages (a page and the page it links to).

We provide 5Mb total disk space for $150/yr. (only $95/yr with banner or billboard in New Frontier Magazine, Asheville Magazine, Nepal Institute, Asheville Holistic Alternatives or Bliss Magazine) Additional disk space: $5/5Mb/mo., or $49.95/5Mb/yr

Design charges: $45/hr. in 15 minute increments. A simple banner costs about $50, while more elaborate banners and pages with art, sophisticated design or movement can run several hours.
Hypertext links: $1.49 ea. at time of installation. Changes or additions after initial installation: $45/hr., (15 minute/$11.25 minimum).
JAVA, CGI, C++ or Perl script Design: $85/hr.
Real Video/Audio Design/implementation: $85/hr.
MIDI sound per selection: $15
Key stroking from hard copy: $10 per 250 words or part thereof. (we prefer copy formatted in Microsoft Word for Windows).
Key stroking from tape transcription: $25/hr (translations $75/hr)
Any other design or work not covered above: $45/hr.

(There is no charge for downloading copy and graphics)

Larger jobs, estimated at over 5 hours, require 50% deposit with order.
