New Age Music review

I first saw Ron Clearfield in New York some years ago, and again in Asheville's Cafe Terra at Earth Fare some months ago. He now lives in the Asheville, NC area, and has been guest conductor with the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. He's played with the Miami Philharmonic and the Indianapolis Symphony, and has also played with Leonard Bernstein, George Benson, Linda Ronstadt, Aaron Copeland, Seji Ozawa and Dionne Warwick to name a few stars. He was cellist for Judy Collins on her A&E Christmas Special at the famed Biltmore House in Asheville. This is his debut album which he wrote and performs.

A Master cellist, and creative keyboard player, Clearfield's instruments also include the tamboura and percussion. In Dream Manifestation, Clearfield also brings along some exceptional musician friends adding oboe, English and French horns, silver and bamboo flutes, zither, violin, harp, tablas and more...

The rich tapestry of Dream Manifestation is a soothing blend of new age ambience, classical orchestral sound and smooth jazz. The album carries a message--an outcry of Mother Earth ( a touch of Paul Winter here ),in "Listen...the Earth is Weeping," and the final track "The Marriage of Heaven & Earth." The composer says he receives personal visions through channeling, deep meditation and Native American workshops.

There is no doubt that Clearfield's work is now emerging to the next level, and this CD stands as evidence. He has tapped into "the zone,"as they say. This is a "must CD" for all massage therapists as well as classical music lovers.
