Broadcasting live (most of the time) from the studios of WPEK, 880 AM, The Revolution, Asheville North Carolina ("...a new age Mecca." -- CBS-TV News; "America's freak capital" -- Rolling Stone Magazine; "a place of bliss" -- ABC's 20/20)

Arbiton (The Nielsen of radio) has repeatedly given VIRATO LIVE!  the #1 ranking in its station time slot.

The full 5000 watt AM mountain signal reaches most of western North Carolina and parts of Tennessee and South Carolina--a potential audience of over 500,000 people .

It is streamed live on the Internet, with an estimated 400,000 listeners across the country. Shows are then archived for download, listen or iPod processing world-wide. Archives are available back to May of 2006!

The first hour of VIRATO LIVE!, 10:06 AM to 11 AM on VIRATO LIVE! is called Message From Asheville and features people from, or coming to, the greater Asheville area. The second and third hours, 11:06 AM to 1 PM East Coast time, feature national and international guests.

Feature Interviews/discussions are one hour long, with about 45 minutes of actual talk time after commercial announcements. Occasionally an interview/dialogue may be two hours long, 11:06AM-1 PM  East Coast time).

While we may focus on a particular subject, the topics are usually connected to the guest, although the program has also featured unknown guests with a specific topic. Intuition plays a big role in selection

Guest/Topic Selection

Here are some of the methods of guest and topic selection:

• News stories, magazine articles, etc.
• Listener and guest suggestions
• Messages from Divine source (should really be #1)

Please note: Feature interviews are not paid for in any way  (barter, cash, products, service, favors or other remuneration)...to Virato....to the radio station...or anyone else.

The entire program may have sponsors, but not any particular guest.

That said, VIRATO LIVE! may broadcast sponsored seven minute segments (mini-interviews or sponsored mini-programs). Sponsor must be clearly identified at the beginning and end of such mini-interview or mini-program.

Whether a featured interview, a sponsored mini-interview, or a mini-program, all must approved by Virato, and meet all station and Federal Communications Commission laws and guidelines.

Interview may be live in the studio or by phone, and they may also be pre-recorded.
