Put together a cast of 47 people, including a boy's choir, opera singers, a Temple chorus, a shaman, a Nomad, an Australiandigeridoo, a Lakota medicine man, percussion from Egypt, Africaand India, along with a wide array of keyboards, and you havethe ingredients of Tim Wheater's latest project, Heartland.

I must start off by saying that all of Tim Wheater's music touchesme. Wheater is a talent, whose quality for reaching the essenceof a listener will be remembered well into this next century. Although he was a founding member of the Eurythmics, apopular band of 80s, today Wheater has become a heart-toucherof the new age spiritual music scene. His choices for new recordingsis always outstanding.

His latest release, Heartland is no exception. Filled with voices as a vocal expression of this rich CD, Wheater, never a loner has collaborated with many others sharing his spiritover the years. In fact this is Tim's 16th album. Co-producedwith David Lord (who has worked with Peter Gabriel, Icehouseand XTC) the CD includes some lyrics by metaphysician StuartWilde, developer of the Warrior's Wisdom. This CD is a bold departurefrom Tim's usual easy going flute journeys. The opening narrationitself is compelling: "As the wheel of destiny spins andturns, the sisters of fate laugh while the ego burns. Heed thelesson of the great quatrain: the world of goodness will riseagain. See here our beloved brother stands the warrior who traveledto distant lands. Now he must lay his sword to rest and returnhis soul to gentleness. Sing brave warrior sing…"

Heartland is more than music, it is a new age operettaand shamanic journey...and one that the listener will not soonforget. If some Broadway producer doesn't grab this up for a production, they will be truly be missing one of those rare opportunities Bravo Tim!
