Luminous Dreams

By Jach Pursel

We, who are so engaged in our metaphysical path and our spiritual journey, know the value of having a personal dream; we understand the power of having global dreams. Much of our inner work to create a more harmonious world for ourselves, for those we love and care about, and for our planet has to do with having such dreams and with moving beyond only talking about them into beginning to live them.

Often Lazaris has said that "practice is over." He means that all that we do, and all that we are being, matters more than it ever has before. All that we think and feel has more profound affect on the reality we create. Everything counts now as it never counted before. To me, this also means that our dreams need to become more real; our dreaming needs to become more conscious.

Though there are many ways to respond to a world in which practice is over--and there are endless avenues to allowing our dreams and dreaming to be more real and more conscious--one that I like working with is the technique of allowing my dreams to become Luminous Dreams. A dream that becomes a Luminous Dream is not only a dream that reflects my needs, wants, and preference. It is a dream that has its own light. It is a reflection and it is also a generation. It generates its own meaning and value. It is luminous.

I have found several ways to lift a dream beyond a reflection into the realm, or the arena, of being luminous. The particular beauty of a Luminous Dream is that it changes us--it "grows" us--now, long before such a dream could even begin to manifest. To me, the rare beauty is that a Luminous Dream stretches us and our power, talent, and strength and allows us to become more of who we really are. Its very existence--its very presence--does this. Though I don't understand all the reasons why and how, I do know the experience of having my Luminous Dreams changes who I am; I know the joy of having my Luminous Dreams play an important role in the success I manifest.

What is a Luminous Dream? It is a unique dream that reflects more than needs, wants, desires, and preferences. It is dream that begins beyond longing. I do not long for my particular Luminous Dream. I know. I know it is mine, and I know that I will have it. Beyond longing and hungering, there is knowing. That is where dreams become luminous.

In this knowing beyond longing, caught within the metaphors, myths, and hieroglyphs of such a dream, we can discover the reflections and expressions of our more real self-Self. We can discover our Truer Self and our Transcendent Self. It is our luminosity that gives light to Luminous Dreams.

What makes a dream luminous? We consciously create it that way. We can take a dream of our own design and craft its luminosity. I have found that it is valuable to make sure the dream I pick is an adult dream. I always check to make sure I am not trying to take a dream coming from the child, adolescent, negative ego, or parent into luminosity. Once I have a loving grip upon an adult dream, then . . . .

Commitment: With courage, perseverance, and conviction, I decide that I will not abandon this dream. More than a commitment to its happening, I find myself committing to the power of the dream itself--to its beauty and its wonder. Commitment connects me to the happiness and to the joy that the dream, by its very presence, produces in me. Now.

Teaching and Learning: It is a dream that I allow my Higher Self and my Soul to fill with metaphors. I open my creative imagination so that images and symbols from my Subconscious and Unconscious Mind can flow into my dream. Filled with such imagery, the dream becomes filled with light. Then, I sit within the imagery of my dream, and learn the meaning of all those metaphors and all those living hieroglyphs. I learn and my dream teaches me. I become aware, and begin to understand more and more of who I am and of what I am. I gather pieces of my destiny in this dream that is more real--in this dream that is becoming luminous.

Allowing: I give my dream an aliveness and an allure. I let it imagine itself and create itself into being and into becoming more. I let this happen between my meditative visits. Then, while I visit this gestating dream, I allow it to compel me--to pull me--deeper and more meaningfully into the metaphors and lyrical rituals it newly contains. I have found that my many dreams for success and happiness often propel me into action. They encourage with a nudge or a gentle push. My luminous dream tends to compel me into action. It motivates with an allure and a subtle pull. There is a wonderful sense of allowing and permitting that permeates my luminous dream.

Giving: This unique dream also allows me to give to it continuously. I am always adding little pieces to the dream. In turn, it gives back to me; it keeps changing and growing showing me more of itself. It is as if we are both alive and as if we are both become more. We are. I feed and nurture my dream; my dream feeds and nurtures me. It is alive -- luminous.

Expanding, Growing, Evolving: I work with this dream that is fast becoming luminous by adding dimension to it. I allow it to have greater meaning in my daily life. I think about it often as I go about living my very dimensional and very metaphysical life today. I let this unique dream matter to me and to my world. I let it become more--more than I could imagine or believe. I let it reach beyond my current levels of love and trust. Being alive my luminous dream breathes. There is an ebb and flow; there are waxes and wanes. Though it is continuous, it is not constant. My luminous dream expands, grows, and evolves. And it "grows" me, it changes me and evolves me. I feel it.

To me, my Luminous Dream is a dream that exists beyond space-time and it is a dream that calls for committing, teaching-learning, allowing, giving, expanding, growing, and evolving. As I give these qualities to a dream, it becomes luminous--filled with a light like no other.

Lazaris has often said, "The steps of getting there are the qualities of being there." Once a dream has become luminous it gives back all that it has been given. Once a dream is luminous, we become luminous as well. We become committed, teaching-learning, allowing, giving. We become expanding-growing-evolving in more ways than we can yet imagine or yet believe.

During this past Year of Vision, I have been giving a great deal of attention to my Luminous Dreams. My life has become immeasurably more magical and oh-so-much more fun. I hope your dreams can become more real; perhaps this year they can become filled with light and love--luminous.
